COMPANY BACKGROUND


Trac-Wheels1Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated under the Company’s Act 1965 on 20th May 1985. Since its inception, Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd has played an active role in the promotion and sale of construction and port handling equipment in East Malaysia.

It has over the years supplied, delivered, installed and commissioned global leading brands of construction and port equipment to the public and private sector, in association with its sister company, Trac-Wheels (KK) Sdn Bhd. Holding prestigious agencies such as P&H, Lister, Kalmar, Gottwald, SAF Holland, Bromma, Shibata Asia Jongro Eng and the group ,in strong collaboration with these principals, have also conducted many training programmes and courses both locally and overseas for its clients and personnel.

Among the many milestone are:

The supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of one unit P&H 9150 Lattice Boom Truck Cane to Rajang Port Authority in 1990.

The supply, delivery, erection and commissioning of 4 units Valmet Straddle Carrier to Sabah Ports Authority in 1991.

The delivery, installation and commissioning of 3 units of P&H Mining Shovel to Mamut Copper Mine in Ranau, Sabah in 1992.

The delivery, installation and commissioning of 2 units of Sisu Straddle Carrier to Sabah Ports Authority in 1994.

In 1997, Miri Port Authority took delivery of 2 units Sisu Reach Stacker complete with service and maintenance contract for 10 years.

Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd ordered 4 units of Ottawa Terminal Tractors in 1999 and increased its fleet to 19 units with the award of 15 units Ottawa Terminal Tractors in 2000.

2002 was another record year for the company with the delivery and commissioning of 1 unit Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane (100 ton) and 3 unit Kalmar Reach Stacker to Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd. The package comes with 5 years service and maintenance contract.

Rajang Port Authority took delivery of 1 unit Kalmar Straddle Carrier in March 2005 complete with 1 year warranty, spare parts and service support.

In June 2005, the company was awarded the contract by Miri Port Authority (MPA) for the supply, installation and commissioning of 1 unit Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane with 2 years warranty and 5 years service and maintenance contract to expire in 2012.

A 5 year Integrated Cargo handling Contract was also inked between Miri Port Authority and Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd on 16th June 2005 in which the company took over the cargo handling operations of the port by providing manpower and equipment for containers, general cargo, bulk cargo and sawn timber operation.

Our fleets of Port Handling equipment in operation at Miri Port are as below:

2. One unit 50 ton Kato Truck Crane
3. Four units Sisu Terminal Tractor
4. Six units Capacity Terminal Tractor
5. Five Units of 40 footer Trailer
6. One unit 7 ton Toyota Forklift
7. Three units 3 ton Komatsu low mast forklift
8. Two units 3 ton Mitsubishi high mast forklift
9. One unit 2.5 ton Nissan forklift

Our total manpower of 58 staff at Miri Port for the ICHC is made up of 40 certified Stevedores, a team of highly trained and DOSH certified crane, forklift and terminal tractor operators. Headed by our experienced Branch Manager, the team includes an assistant engineer and a strong team of factory trained service personnel.

In June 2006, Trac-Wheels (M) Sdn Bhd was also awarded the contract to supply, deliver and commission of 3 units Kalmar ContChamp Reach Stackers with two years warranty and back up service support by Bintulu Port Sdn Bhd.

Our Bintulu Operatins is headed by our Service Manager. He is assisted by a service engineer and a team of factory trained and skilled technicians to provide service and maintenance of 3 units Kalmar Reach Stackers and 1 unit Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane besides the current Tyre Contract with Bintulu Port.

On 18th April 2008, Trac-Wheels were awarded the contract to supply 4 units Kalmar straddle Carrier to Rajang Port Authority. The machines were delivered and commissioned in August the same year.

In June 2009, Trac-Wheels secured the contract to supply and operate back-end cargo handling equipment together with trained operators and stevedores to Tanjung Manis Integrated Port Sdn Bhd.

8. Two units low deck platform trailers
9. Six unit container trailer

Our Tanjung Manis Operations is headed by an Operations Manager and a dedicated team of 46 highly skilled technical team, equipment operators and stevedores.
